Obituary of William Mitchell
MERIDEN- William "Bill" Mitchell, 81, passed away Thursday April 14, 2011 at his residence. He was the husband of Marcia L. (Sanguinetti) Mitchell whom he was married to for 59 years.
Bill was born May 3, 1929 in Woodsville, NH, son of the late Harold and Esther (Balch) Mitchell.
He was a veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by New England Telephone Company prior to his retirement.
Bill was a mason belonging to Grafton Lodge #46, AF&AM, in Haverhill, NH, North Star Chapter #16, Lancaster, NH, Evening Star Council #403, Colebrook, NH, Valley of Lancaster (Lodge) - Scottish Rite, Valley of Littleton (Council Chapter), Scottish Rite, and Valley of Nashua (Consistory), Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree. He was a licensed pilot having owned his own plane flying out of Whitefield, NH. Bill is a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Woodsville, NH, and a citizen of the Sovereign Abenaki Nation.
Besides his wife, Bill is survived by two sons Mark W. and his wife Michelle Mitchell of Barnet, VT, and Craig T. and his wife Laura Mitchell of Pendleton, IN; a daughter Diane and her husband Richard Zettergren of Meriden, CT; a sister Joyce and her husband Shelden Varney of Honolulu, HI; seven grandchildren Nicholas, Nathan, Sara, Olivia, Daniel, Eric, and Julianne; and two great grandchildren Emily and Grace.
Arrangements- A private Memorial Service will be held at Center Congregational Church in Meriden. Burial will be in Horse Meadow Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
