My Mom and brother Bob welcome Jay to the hereafter, thanks to all of Jays friends and relatives who have been so sympathetic and caring. Time will ease this pain, but time won't erase the wonderful memories of Jay and his endless care for others.

So sorry to hear of Jay's sudden passing. I am retired from Yale and had occasions to have Jay treat me. There will certainly be a void at Yale - he will be remembered as the kind and caring PA who greeted you with a smile and always knew your name.

I remember when I started working on Tompkins 1 at YNHH. Orthopedic and ENT patients. 2 RN's ,2 LPN's, and nurses aides. Jay,Joe, and Jeff were the best Nurses aides I ever worked with. Jay had such a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh.I was so proud of him when he became a PA. He never forgot me when I came to Employee Health every year for my PPD.He was a great guy and a great soul.I will never forget him.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Jay this past year in Occupational health. It just seemed to be in his nature to make us laugh, especially at ourselves everyday. He always made me feel welcome and part of the staff. It will not be the same without him, he will be deeply missed by many. Renee C. Pesce pca

To the Family of Jay Bishop, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to your family regarding Jay's passing. I've worked at the hospital for more than 20 yrs and Jay was always my "go to guy" whenever I injured myself or needed my yearly shots. I enjoyed talking with him and listening to him tell of his vacations in our National Parks. His photographs captured nature at their best and he will be surely missed by all of us....He was a kind and special man.. Sincerely, Linda Galluzzo

I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences on John's passing. Although I did not know him personally, I knew him as the comforting presence of Occupational Health. I had just been to see him as a patient last week. He was such a lovely man, always so kind and compassionate. Please take comfort in knowing how respected he was in the Yale Community. He will be sadly missed. Sincerely, Colleen Miller, R.N.

I am saddened to hear of the Passing of Jay. I have known Jay from working at the hospital for many years. We would chat about his love of Nature so beautifully illustrated by his photos, shared experiences, and upcoming trips. He shared the joy he experienced in Nature's Cathedrals. His presence will be missed by me and all those that knew him.

Dear Bishop Family, I am saddened by the announcement of Jay's death. I was his Resident director at UVM when Jay came in as a freshmen. His sister brought him to Marsh hall. Jay and I became friends almost instantly and have remained friends. He had just sent me some CD's of his visit to many of the national parks. While quiet in nature, Jay was a loving person with a dry sense of humor until you got him to "loosen" up, then you couldn't shut him up. Pam and I send our heart-felt condolences to the family. Sincerely, Rodger & Pamela F. Summers Vestal, NY

We have lost a very special friend and colleague. HE made it a practice to view the beauty of his world through his camera lens and view his friends through an open heart. We miss him but are grateful for having been fortunate enough to share a part of his life.
