Obituary of Christine Widman
MILFORD; Mrs. Christine Winifred (Walsh) Widman 90, of Milford formerly of Cheshire, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2011 at her home. She was the widow of James C. Widman, Sr.
Mrs. Widman was born July 3, 1921 in Waterbury a daughter of the late Patrick and Winifred (Moyles) Walsh and has been a Milford resident for the past 7 years moving here from Cheshire. She attended Waterbury schools and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and Post Junior College. She was a secretary at Chase Brass and Copper prior to becoming a devoted and loving mother. She enjoyed playing bridge and bingo and was a longtime Communicant of the Church of the Epiphany in Cheshire.
She leaves her sons, James C. Widman, Jr and wife Patricia of Milford, Joseph J. Widman and wife Melanie of Wallingford, her daughters, Christine W. Rosa of Trumbull and Sharon E. Shofner and husband Mark of Virginia Beach, Va, her sister, Anne Manion of Naugatuck and her grandchildren, Shannon and Jessica Widman, Christina, Kaitlin and Kara Rosa, Nicole, Dorothy and Michael Shofner, Joseph and Ryan Widman and Ashley and Alyssa Nadolny along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dorothy A. Widman and sisters Dorothy Marino and Patricia Schumacher.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the procession leaves for Mass at 9:15 a.m. Funeral services for Mrs. Widman will be held Friday at 9: 15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 South Main Street to the Church of the Epiphany 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
