Obituary of William Horgan
MANCHESTER- William "Bill" F. Horgan, 94, formerly of Waterbury passed away Sunday August 14, 2011 at Manchester Manor Nursing Home.
He was born February 27, 1917 in Waterbury son of the late Anna (O'Brien) and Daniel Horgan.
Bill was a veteran serving in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a Postal Clerk at the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by two nephews Donald P. and his wife Susan Hogan of Glastonbury, and Gerald Austin of Waterbury; three nieces, Patricia and her husband James Burke of Wilbraham, MA, Kathleen MacNider, and Deborah Cheesborough both of Belvedere, IL, and twelve great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Mary Hogan, and Elizabeth Austin. Bill will always be remembered as a beloved Uncle by all of his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Arrangements- Bill's funeral will be held Friday August 19, 2011 10:30 A.M from the Mulville Funeral Home, 270 West Main St, Waterbury, 06702 to The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held the morning of the funeral from 9 A.M until the precession leaves for church. In lieu of flowers donations is Bill's name may be made to The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church, 74 West Main St, Waterbury, 06702, or to a charity of the donors choice.
