Having known Linda for the past 27 years has been an inspiring experience. Her smile was always bright, she was enthusiastic & she was such an endearing person. Our friendship started when we worked together at the Edwards store in Waterbury, and it continued all these years. We looked forward to spending time together, when we'd share experiences, laughter, books, recipes, cooking ideas, shopping links on the internet, photographs, vacation trips, family values and advice. Among the many gifts Linda had was her keen listening ear, and the fact that she wasn't afraid to say what she felt was right and had to be said. Linda could have been a professional advisor. She taught me so many things, and would advise me often to take time for myself. She never steered me wrong. Some things I'll never forget about her - Many times we spoke on the phone and she'd give me a new recipe she had just put together. She'd know all the steps and measurements by heart, listing them off to me as, at first, I'd be scrambling to find a piece of paper and a writing tool. Her love of gardening was another attribute. I still pick delicious strawberries every spring from the plants she gave me long ago. She really knew her stuff and shared unselfishly. Linda was so very proud of her family. They all meant the world to her. And how she beamed with joy and love when she talked about her grandchildren! She admired little Melissa's playfulness and independence, Matthew's interpretations of Grandpa John's mannerisms and Jussonjah's confidence, love of dance and the great performances she gave. Over the last few years, Linda, Linda Clarke and I spent some priceless time together, especially for our annual birthday gatherings in the spring, and most recently as she prepared for her last surgery. The three of us could just talk on and on about anything, laugh at ourselves and speak confidently with each other. We had a real sisterhood relationship. We grew so much from the connections we made together. We will miss Linda dearly. I have lost a wonderful friend but have gained so much confidence, inspiration and love from knowing Linda. Rest in peace, my darling.

I am so sorry to hear of linda's passing. I had worked with her at Big Y and spoke with her often when she was shopping at walmart prior to her illness. She was a wonderful, friendly person and I will miss her smile and how she and I shared our grandchildren stories. My sincerest sympathy to everyone in the family.

One Sunday - Linda had us all laughing when she described their last trip to the grocery store. John was trying to help with the shopping and was quite loud with his shopping commentary. Linda told us that she had to remind him to "use your inside voice".

We will always remember many Sunday afternoons with Linda and John in dad's kitchen. Linda always had a plate of (name the holiday) cookies, and always shared her recipe (step by step). If it wasn't a holiday, Linda always had a new meal recipe or a coupon deal to share with us (in between sparring with John). From Julie and Mark
