Obituary of Charles Falk

CHESHIRE - Charles J. Falk, 90, was peacefully received by the Lord on Monday September 5, 2011 at Mid-State Medical Center in the presence of his loving family reuniting with his late wife of 56 years, Margaret (Willey) Falk. Mr. Falk was born February 19, 1921 in Herkimer, NY the son of the late Charles J. and Gertrude (Metz) Falk. He graduated from Hobart College in 1942. A week after graduating he began his career at General Electric where he worked for 39 years. He was a longtime Cheshire resident where he was a communicant of St. Bridget Church and a participant in the Chat and Chew men's group. Known as Charlie, Butch and Pop, he enjoyed many activities including swimming, snow skiing, waterskiing, and puttering in his workshop. Many beautiful summers were spent with family and friends at "the lake." With his motor boat, he enjoyed teaching many to water ski. He kept his wit and dry sense of humor until the end. Mr. Falk is survived by his sons Donald A. Falk of Cheshire, Thomas C. Falk and his wife Linda Sten of Madbury, NH; his daughters Margaret "Peggy" Mar and her husband Dorn of Wilmington, MA and Anne K. Falk of Portland, ME; his three brothers John W. Falk of New Milford, CT, Francis D. Falk of Brooklyn, NY and Edward W. Falk of Newport, NY; his sister Mary R. Falk of Herkimer, NY; his 9 grandchildren; his 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. After 90 years of a fulfilled life, Charlie is now, as he would say before a nap, resting his eyes. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Elim Park, Guardian Angels Homecare, and ShopRite Pharmacy of Wallingford. Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Friday September 9, 2011 10:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for church.
