Dear Stite Family, I would like to express my deepest sympathies for the loss Sherlee.. I lost my mom and a cousin a few months later, so at this time of your pain, my thoughts and prayers are with you. As a matter of fact I would like to share a few scriptures with you that I found comforting.. While Jesus was on the earth, he experienced grief at the loss of his friend Lazarus. However, Jesus likened death to sleep and showed he had power over it when he resurrected Lazarus from the dead(John 11:1-43). In fact, a resurrection for faithful mankind is central to the Christian faith, for there in Act 24:15 we have the apostle Paul's words; "I have hope toward God, which hope these men themselves also entertain that there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous as well as the unrighteous." Yes, in the future, God's plan is to bring back our loved ones. He furnished this proof when he resurrected Jesus(1Corinthians 15:12-19). Ultimately God will wipe out death and we will have the prospects of living forever. In Revelation 21:4, it says in part"... and death will be no more...the former things have passed away." I hope these scriptures were able to give you a measure of comfort during your time of sorrow.
