Oh Rich...When I reflect on our time as Warrant Officer Candidates in '87 through flight school, I recall a stalwart officer, a man of true integrity and moral fiber, one with the guts to do the absolute correct thing...every time. The Marine turned Army Warrant Officer who could out-run the class for endurance, call cadence, stop whatever he was doing to help a fellow soldier in need WHEN help was needed and not necessarily convenient, ace everything he put his mind to...and do it all with modesty, proudly, but modestly. That is Rich as I know him.
I was pleasantly surprised when my son Rob ( our fellow/brother Hooker ) called me from Afghanistan to tell me that he met you there; he too, saw your tall measure of integrity.
Rich, your mission is not ended. Every soul that you touched carries your example in humanity.
One-line entry flight plan now My Friend...last one...straight to the Glory of The Heavens...

Dear Mrs. Curadi and Luke,
I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and father, Richard. Jared told me of his passing and I immediately called my son, Ben, who was shocked and shaken to his core by the news. You extended such great kindness, support and warmth to Ben while he stayed in your home during summer goalie camps. He gave glowing reports of the three of you and said you made him feel like family. Though I did not meet Richard and yourselves, I feel the connection one feels for good people who go beyond the call of duty to look out for your kids.
We are thinking of you, and thank you for everything you did for Ben, and for Richard's long and exemplary service to our country.
Warmly,
Brian and Kelly Eddolls

Mr. Curadi had a great influence over me in the time that I knew him. His lessons still touch me, actually every day. While I was in Iraq with him, we flew virtually every day in broken helicopters. We did everything in our power to make those birds fly. It was a raggedy fleet.
Not only would we fly in broken helicopters together, he taught me how to work out. I have been following his hockey workout ever since. I have passed his knowledge down to people he doesn't even know since then. I have brought his knowledge to whoever would work out with me.
This may not be good paragraph structure, but this man has influenced my life deeply. I may not be in the army anymore, but his guidance was well appreciated. It's a shame to lose a man like Mr Curadi. I never got to call him Rich. "Isn't hockey about the best sport ever?!"

Denise and Luke I am so sorry for your loss. This past season was the first chance I got to meet Richard at an RPI game. He was very friendly and personable and I am so glad I did have that chance to meet him. He was a fine man who served his country with honor and dignity and a man who truly loved his family. May God bless him and your family.

Curadi Family,
My deepest sympathy to you all in losing Richard. I went thru flight school with Richard in the mid to late 80’s. He was a great leader to many in our flight, his prior service and mentorship thru that time served many others and me. He had a wonderful sense of humor; we shared many, many laughs together. I wish I were not so far away, I will miss Rich and regret I cannot be there to offer my condolences to you in person. A great person just left our country. Bless you all.

I had the absolute honor of having Rich Curadi as my uncle. As heartbroken as I am for the tremendous loss to our family, the leadership, inspiration, strength, support, love, kindness and dedication he showed to his family and his country will forever remain an inspiration to us all. The love, understanding and true best-friendship he demonstrated towards my Aunt Denise touched my heart since childhood. Theirs was a love that few are lucky enough to experience. They supported each others dreams and goals and together truly were a "team." Their love produced my amazing cousin Luke, to whom Rich was the epitome of a perfect roll model, mentor and coach. So I thank you, so truly Rich, for your selfless service defending our freedoom; For being an outstanding roll model; For bringing my dear Aunt such happiness and love; For being a fantastic Dad to my cousin; For being an all around nice man and for the hockey puck all those years ago!

I am proud to say I served and flew with Rich "Crunch" Curadi over in Iraq in 2009. Rich was a great American who will be missed by many. This has to be quite a shock to many.
I will always remember how Rich always proudly updated us on his son's many hockey achievements. Both father and son had much to be proud of!
Godspeed to you Rich at your new ice rink in Heaven!

Dear Mrs. Curadi and Luke:
I am so sorry for your loss and wish I could be there to tell you in person. I am away for the summer teaching youth Hockey with the “Planet Hockey” organization.
Coach Curadi made me want to be a better skater and a better hockey player. I will always be grateful for the lessons he taught and his encouragement that I could, in fact, do better.
Each time I go on the ice this summer, I will think of my Coach, say a little prayer of thanks for the time I spent with him, and do my best and try to coach as well as he did.
Thank you Coach.

It is very sad to hear this news about Coach Rich Curadi. We didn't get the chance to know him personally but could tell from this past Connecticut RiverHawks tryout for Midget Minor that he was very passionate about hockey and that our son was going to learn a great deal from him this upcoming hockey season both on and off the ice. Our thoughts and prays go out to the Curadi family at this time.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Richards passing. I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to Denise and Luke. I first met Richard nearly 20 years ago at 2/126 Aviation Regt. and from the moment we spoke there was some connection. He was a true soldier, genuine, honest and compassionate toward his fellow soldiers. I believe others saw the same in Richard. I will always cherish and remember those good times.
