Was thinking about Ed and Dorothy tonight and discovered this notice today. So sorry I did not find out sooner. So many fond memories from the business days in New York. Ed was one of my favorite business associates, and I will always remember the night that Ed and Dorothy took me, along with my mother and sister, to Le Petit Plume for dinner and to see Barbara Cook sing at a nearby cabaret. Ed was so full of life and made everyone around him happy. My deepest condolences to Dorothy and family.

To the family of Edward J. Robinson,
I am truly sorry for your loss. I met Ed at the Wallingford Family YMCA, where I work. Ed was a devoted, caring and friendly member here. He always had a smile on his face and genuinely cared how everyone was doing. Over the past year, my wife and I grew close to Ed. The best memory I have with Ed is when he invited my wife and I out to lunch, and we talked about Ambit, faith and the Lord. I, still, treasure his words to this day. It saddens my wife and I to hear of his passing. On behalf of the myself, my wife and the Wallingford Family YMCA, we are deeply sorry for your loss and will truly miss Ed.

Dorothy and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I new Ed for less than a year, but immediately felt welcomed in his presence. I met him at an Ambit Energy Meeting, but soon realized that he was a man of faith, attending the same church as my family, Faith Living Church. When he spoke of sponsoring children from Kora, Ethiopia, I knew that our meeting was not just a coincidence, but a divine appointment. Not only did Ed help me in my business without any benefit to himself, but after hearing that I had just learned of some health setbacks of my own, he took the time to pray with me, and for me, for healing from our Lord. Often, my youngest son, Ryan, attended the Ambit business presentations with me, and Ed was so kind and gracious to him, always telling him what a fine Irish name he had. He encouraged him to do his best in school, as well as becoming involved in sports, and spoke of rugby with a twinkle in his eye. Ryan adored him, as did we all. He will be greatly missed.

Dorothy is my longest friendship in my life. We met in Kindergarten and she was a bridesmaid at my wedding. Our military lifestyle took us far away for a long time, but we have stayed best friends. We were finally able to meet Ed in the 1980s and have visited with Dorothy & Ed as often as possible. Our husbands got to know each other, although geography always separated us. The four of us just celebrated birthdays in 11/13; Dorothy & I turned 60 years old (see photo). Ed, Kelly, and Brendan - we will love and support Dorothy all her life.

We have been neighbors of the Robinsons for almost 30 years & it has been a wonderful experience.
Ed & we talked many times every week & enjoyed zinging each other over out backgrounds. We exchanged jokes & talked about just about everything. Lately we compared notes about our recent surgeries. Roz & Ed always compared their latest gardening efforts.
It is difficult to understand that a smiling Ed will not be outside his unit when I come out my front door.
We will miss Ed greatly.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any manʼs death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
