Obituary of Lloyd A. McPhee, III

CHESHIRE – Lloyd “Sonny” McPhee III, 62, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Sonny was born August 30, 1951 in New Haven, the son of the late Lloyd and Viola (Miller) McPhee Jr. He was a life-long Cheshire resident where he worked at his family’s Auto Body shop, McPhee Auto Body. After the closing of McPhee Auto Body, Sonny worked at Meriden Auto Body for a number of years. During his early years, Sonny was a member of the Cheshire Fire Department where he held the rank of Lieutenant and was listed as an Honor Roll Member. Sonny was a loving and devoted Grandfather who thoroughly enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. His kindness, generosity, contagious laugh, and unique sense of humor will be missed most by his family and friends. Sonny is survived by his son Willy McPhee and his wife Lisa of Cheshire; his daughter Amy McPhee of Jackson Hole, WY; long time companion Debbie Negralle of Cheshire; his sisters Nancy Kieper and her husband Paul of Beckett, MA, Carol McPhee of Cheshire, Patricia Malis of Cheshire, and Pookie Kostuk of Cheshire; his grandchildren Riley, Lloyd and Dakota, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Sonny is predeceased by his son Lloyd “Mickey” McPhee IV. Arrangements – A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery, Wallingford Road, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
