Dear Sue,
I was looking up Roy for some Fluorite information when I came across this post.
Barbara and I are so sad to hear this news and our hearts go out to you and your family.
I enjoyed coming over to your house in Cheshire and seeing the Museum that Roy built.
I remember Shelby and Ryan from the Springfield shows and the love, so evident in your entire family. I will miss Roy. Take care, Tom Mahoney

Aunt Sue -
I just found out about Uncle Roy from Bonnie. I hate to hear this. I'm so sorry. You were so good to me during my loss, thank you. If there is anything I can do for you, either from here or there, please do call. I loved him, Aunt Sue, and the both of you have done so much for my Dad and for me. Uncle Roy made him happy. Forgive me for being a fool. I love you and hope you're doing alright. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a great man. I wish I knew him better. I have so much I need to ask him now. About the family, about my Dad, about minerals (I have a new hobby - i'm a rock hound! I didn't see that coming!). Ill be thinking of you. When the dust settles on your end, maybe drop me a note on facebook, let me know everybody's okay. It's funny, but really YOU are my last Smith.
You're a strong woman, my Dad always said that. And I see that too. I know you loved Uncle Roy, and I'll be praying for you and your family. - Roy Vaughn

Dear Sue, Andra, Michael, Shelby, Ryan, Marie and Ryan, Jr:
Our thoughts, prayers and love are with each of you, following the loss of your husband, dad and grandpa. Roy was a man of quiet strength, surprising wit and a very generous heart. He was exceedingly kind to the kids in the neighbor, including those in our family. Mandy loved the outings with Roy to Hometown Buffet and the annual Springfield gemstone show. Roy earned our respect and admiration for his depth of knowledge and his creativity with his collection of gemstones. We imagine he's probably in Heaven, excavating its domain for the best of the best stones and still teaching others, the wonders of his finds. May Roy rest in eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon him. May God grant each of you strength and love to heal the wounds of your loss.
Love, The Murphys

I would like to express my condolences over the passing of Roy Smith.
As a former employee of Ametek-Pfizer in Wallingford CT, I am familiar with the everlasting contributions that Roy made. The very unique processes used to produce metal alloy strip had Roy's hand in their development. They allow the plant to produce material that is recognized in the industry for its high purity, unique properties, and excellent quality. This has enabled the plant to expand and prosper, in no small part to the efforts of Roy.

Aunt Sue we are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Roy was a great man and we feel honored to have known him. Please give our condolences to the kids. We will be praying for all of you during this hard time. One of our favorite memories is when he was playing football with Kord in the back yard and he zigged when he should of zagged and rolled. After we decided that he was OK we all laughed about it. Kord's face was priceless, he was as surprised as Uncle Roy ws. We love you, Kord and Becky.
