Obituary of Elizabeth Garms

CHESHIRE, CT - Elizabeth “Betty” (Bloom) Garms, 94, passed away peacefully in her home on September 5, 2014. She was the devoted wife of Karl W. Garms. Betty was born on May 3, 1920 to the late Clarence and Jenny (Dickson) Bloom, of Hartford,CT. She attended Bunker Hill Grammar School and graduated from Wilby High School. She served as a deacon for Bunker Hill Congregational Church and was an active member of the Waterbury Women’s Club. Betty loved volunteering at Waterbury Hospital in her free time. Betty is survived by her loving husband and predeceased by her only sister, Hilda B. Holmes. Arrangements - A graveside service will take place on Monday, September 15, at 11:00 AM at the Evergreen Cemetery,183 North Street, Watertown, CT. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in Nelson Hall at Elim Park Place,150 Cook Hill Road, Cheshire, CT. 06410. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire 615 S. Main Street, Cheshire, CT. 06410 is assisting with the arrangements.
