Obituary of Donald H. Eureka
WATERBURY — Donald H. Eureka, 72, entered into rest Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Frances (Azukas) Eureka.
Don was born Dec. 31, 1941 in Waterbury to the late Ernest and Mildred (Hendricks) Eureka. He attended Mary Abbott Grammar School and Croft High School.
Don went on to join the Navy. After his discharge, he was a mechanic for most of his life and worked for Paper Delivery Inc. Donald found enjoyment in watching old western movies, participating in his bowling league and throwing parties, which he was the life of.
But most of all, Donald loved his family.
Besides his loving wife, Don is survived by his daughters, Donna and her husband Joseph Silva, Pamela Eureka and her companion Leo Clement and Melissa and her husband Gene Caron, all of Waterbury; his grandchildren, Carl, Daniel, Haiden and Samantha; his sisters-in law, Julia Azukas, Beverly Azukas and Judith Eureka; and his great-granddaughter, Lillian.
Donald was predeceased by his son, Donald and his brothers, Roger and Richard.
The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care and compassion they have received during this difficult time and through the years, to Donna and her husband Joseph Silva and the VNA nurses who cared for Donald over the years, Alicia, Jeff, Bridget, Nathan and Cindy.
Arrangements: A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury. Friends may greet the family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave., Waterbury, CT 06710 on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to VNA Hospice Care, 50 Brookside Drive, Waterbury, CT 06708.
