Obituary of Margaret Fortune
HAMDEN - Margaret Fortune, 92, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home. She was husband of the late William W. Fortune Sr.
Mrs. Fortune was born October 5, 1921 in New Haven, the daughter of the late Martin and Agnes (Crow) King Sr. She was raised in New Haven and attended local schools before moving to Woodbridge in 1968. During her years in Woodbridge she worked at Amity Regional High School until her retirement in 2000. She was a Communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church and was a proud Cancer survivor. She moved to Hamden in 1991.
She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara F. Esposito and her husband John of Hamden, and Agnes Andruk of TN; her son Thomas E. Fortune and his wife Jacqueline of FL; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews; her daughter-in-law Roseann Fortune of Woodbridge; and her son-in-law Kenneth Lee of MD. She is predeceased by her Daughter, Margaret Ana Lee; her Son, William W. Fortune Jr.; her Sister, Agnes Levesh; and her brother, John King.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2014, 9 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Road, Woodbridge for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
