Obituary of Florenz M. King
CHESHIRE- Florenz (Maloney) King, beloved wife of the late Christopher A. King for 60 years, entered eternal rest peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 16th, surrounded by family.
Florenz lived in Cheshire for over fifty years and worked at Whitney Blake of Hamden for twenty five years, leaving as Purchasing Manager. Florenz was a member of St. Thomas Becket Church and taught CCD classes for over twenty five years. She belonged to the Red Hatters, which she enjoyed very much. Florenz and her late husband loved to travel and did so to Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Bermuda, Hawaii, California,and Florida.
Florenz is survived by her grandsons William Thomas and Pedro Mendia; niece Brenda Connor; niece Shelley Barraco; and sisters in-law Teresa King of Hamden and Dyann King of Ellington. She was predeceased by her daughter Sharon King Thomas; grandson Shawn Thomas; and sister Olive Calderone.
Arrangements- Funeral services for Florenz will be Wednesday November 19th, 2014 from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. Cheshire and will proceed to St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 N Brooksvale Rd, Cheshire for a 10AM mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whitney Ave. Hamden. Calling hours will take place from 5PM until 7PM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the funeral home.
