Dear Carl, Glenn, Mitch, Richard, Tracy,
I just heard the news about your Mom. I'm sorry I will not get to see her again! And send my condolences to you and all the extended family.
Your Mom was such an awesome woman. I saw her a handful of times but remember her well. It was so evident that she loved you fiercely and you made her proud. I think of her now, and a smile instantly comes to my face, as always. She was fun and kind and real. She had a zest for life I connected with.
Carl, remember what she said about Whitey? "If that dog isn't gone by Thanksgiving we're going to have him for dinner!" She got stuck with Whitey just like we all did - the college dog whose owner changed every time somebody graduated.
I can see your Mom in my mind's eye, sitting in the den in Waterbury, smiling and visiting and offering a plate of something to eat. I loved being around her.
