Obituary of Alpha M. Podgwaite

CHESHIRE- Alpha M. Podgwaite, 92, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family Thursday February 19th, 2015. She was the wife of the late Carl J. Podgwaite Sr. Alpha was born November 26th, 1922 in Yalesville to the late Louis and Rose (Page) Reynolds. After attending Lyman Hall High School, Alpha worked as a merchandizing assistant for JC Penny Co. for 32 years. She was an avid gardener and was very passionate about her flowers. Alpha is survived by her son, Timothy J. Podgwaite and his wife Shirley of Davie, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her son Carl J. Podgwaite Jr. Arrangements- A Memorial Service for Alpha will take place Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at 10:30AM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3680 Whitney Ave. Hamden, Ct. 06518. Friends are invited to an aftergathering at the church hall immediately following the service. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
