My Mom and I would like to invite anyone who would like to come to a memorial service for Tori in Dayton, Ohio. It will be held at the Corpus Christi Church in Dayton, Ohio on September 29th 2012 at 4pm. Chruch phone number is 228-3091. Call if you need directions. The church is near Grandview Hospital. I loved reading all of the messages on this website. She did have a beautiful smile and I too will miss her. I am her Step-sister. Since Tori spent a lot of her life in Dayton I thought people may want to share in a Memorial Service close to home. Hope to see you there.

How appreciative I am that Wenli took the time and trouble to find my phone number and contact me with this sad news. The world has lost a most beautiful person. Tori and I knew each other in Dayton, and then I was able to visit the family in CT. Tori saw God in each and every person she met. She accepted us all right where we are, loved us and shared her joy of life. Oh how I ache to think of her illness, and the family. But how I smile deep in my heart just to think and remember Tori!

I met Tori one day at church - we shook hands during the sign of peace. Little did I know at the time I met one of my best friends ever. We both had children same age Olivia and Matt and she asked me if I wanted to join a "first time moms group" in Cheshire - the rest was history. Tori is one of the kindness most spiritual person I have ever known. She has been a good friend through thick and thin and always with a smile. My husband and I were blessed to become Shoashi's godparents thanks to Tori and Wenli. Tori was right kindness does matter and though she was taken from us at a young age her spirit and light will always shine on us and I know she is our angel in heaven. We can all strive to be more like Tori saying a kind word showing a kind gesture even when it's not so easy. I could go on forever. I will miss you my friend but you will be forever in my heart. Dear Wenli and Family, My prayers are with you and your family. I knew Torrie from Epiphany and our mutual relationship with Gen M. Torrie was one of the most beautiful, kind and holy women I have ever met. I was so pleased to talk to her at the 10:30 Mass not too long ago. Typical of Torrie, she had that glowing smile on her face and focused the conversation on complimenting me on something little I had done. She inspired me. The world is a better place because God brought her into our lives for too short a time. God bless you and comfort you during this time.

Torrie was my dear friend from the first moment we met. She has always been there for me and my family. Torrie\'s daughters have her smile, love of life, and people. When Torrie and I first met, it was her daughter Olivia and my son Parker that brought us together. And we have been bonded ever since. On my 50th surprise birthday party Torrie gave me a copy of the AARP newsletter and enough money for a years subscription. Torrie assured me I needed AARP now that I was over the hill as she chuckled. Anyone who has had the pleasure of knowing Torrie and her family, in my opinion have been blessed. Torrie will be missed however, she will live on in her daughters Olivia and Shaoshi.

Torrie was a nurse at a hospitl our Congregation, the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor, sponsored in Dayton, Ohio.We called for nurses to help us care for the extremely poor and sick of Senegal, West Africa. Torrie responded and gave her characteristic generous and professional care to all she could assist. She becaame a friend ofmany of our Sisters. When she returned to the USA, she became an Associate of our Congregation. We always enjoyed welcoming her, Wendl and the children to Associate gatherings in Warwick, NY. At my last encounter with her , when she made her Permanent Covenant with us, she witnessed to her faith and courage as one who knew what ALS was from the inside. Her radiant smile and particular attention to all who joined in the celebration was characteristic of her. My love and prayers to Wendl, the children, her family and friends.

Dear Wenli and Family: Thank you for your call. I am relieved that Tori's suffering is over. God truly gave me a gift when he let my path meet Tori's. I was out going door to door in the winter trying to earn money by shoveling snow. That's how we met. Tori had such a unique and wonderful impact on my life. She always will.
