Obituary of David T. Hardy
CHESHIRE - David T. Hardy, 72, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Maryellen (King) Hardy.
Mr. Hardy was born April 8, 1942 in New Haven, the son of the late Richard T. and Marjorie (Brown) Hardy. He worked for many years in sales for various companies such as A.B. King Company in N. Haven then W.I. Clark Company where he sold construction equipment; as well as owning and operating his own business S.P. Skinner in Naugatuck. He was a longtime Cheshire resident where he was active in the community with several youth sport organizations as well as the Chamber of Commerce. He was a longstanding member of the Farms Country Club where he served the club as President.
Besides his wife of 51 years, Mr. Hardy is survived by his son Richard Hardy and his wife Melissa of Madison, WI; his daughter Carolyn Shafer and her husband Robert of Wilton, NY; his sister Deirdre Clark and her husband Grenville Clark of Wilton, NH; his four grandchildren, Emma, William, Davis, and Elizabeth.
Arrangements - A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:30 am at the First Congregational Church of Cheshire, 111 Church Drive. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Beaverdale Memorial Park and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Cheshire Youth Baseball, P.O. Box 512, Cheshire, CT 06410. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
