Obituary of Joann Fassio

WATERBURY- Joann Grant Fassio, 70, passed away peacefully Friday April 3, 2015 at Glendale Center in Naugatuck. Joann was born November 8, 1944 in Waterbury daughter of the late Pauline (Byron) and Milan Grant Sr. She worked for 45 years at Saint Mary’s Hospital. In her free time Joann loved to bowl, and was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Joann is survived by her six brothers Richard Ricciardi Sr. of Waterbury, and Alpi (Bitsy) Ricciardi Jr. of Waterbury, Paul T. and his wife Eileen Grant of Watertown, Milan Jr. and his wife Carol Grant of Plymouth, Thomas Sr. and his wife Lisa Grant of Boca Roton, FL, and Alan Grant Sr. of Waterbury; five sisters Deloris (Tippy) and her husband Alan Sconziano of Wolcott, Gertrude (Trudy) Grant of Cheshire, Rose and her husband Joe Yezierski of Oakville, Allison and her husband John DeSorbo of Waterbury, and Susan and her husband Michael Ryan of Terryville. Joann is also survived by 57 nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Arrangements- Calling hours for Joann will be held 6 to 8 P.M, Monday April 6, 2015 at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 9 Holmes Ave, Waterbury, 06710. A Memorial Service will be held 10A.M, Tuesday April 7, 2015 at The Bible Church, 240 Dwight St, Waterbury, CT 06704. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to Waterbury Arc, 1929 E Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705, or the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Waterbury, 1037 E Main St, Waterbury, CT 06705.
