Obituary of Consolacion R. Sanchez
Consolacion R. Sanchez, age 87, of Cheshire entered into rest with her loving family by her side on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late Luis A. Sanchez. Consolacion was born on December 8, 1927 in Colombia South America, daughter of the late Gerardo and Maria (Medina) Reyes.
Before coming to the United States over 40 years ago, Consolacion worked for the Colombian government. After arriving at Ellis Island she settled in Brooklyn, NY, where she raised her family and lived there for 35 years. She became a U.S. Citizen and loved going to parks, horses, watching over her grandchildren and cooking for any occasion. Consolacion was a devout religious woman, having been of the Pentecostal faith.
She is the beloved mother of Onofre Sanchez and his wife Cecilia of Brooklyn, NY; Maria Alba Isaza of Staten Island, NY; Maria Aurora Ruiz and her husband Antonio of Mechanicsville, MD; and Maria Angela Sanchez of Cheshire.
She is the adored grandmother of Alex Rodriguez, Giovanni Rodriguez, Shaely Ruiz, Anthony Ruiz, Charles Ruiz, Linda Ruiz, Uriel Isaza, Luis Sanchez, Jessica Sanchez and David Sanchez.
She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren; Diamond Colon, J.C. Rosado, Alexa Rodriguez, Vanessa Ruiz, Alison Ruiz, Christopher Ruiz, Kevin B. Wagner, Kevin A.J. Wagner, Lucas Rodriguez, Jaime Figueroa, Luis E. Figueroa, Faith Sanchez, Angelica Sanchez, Destiny Sanchez and Harmony Sanchez, and her great great grandson Ace Ray. She was predeceased by her son Luis A. Sanchez, her son in law Alvaro Isaza and great grandson Christopher Sanchez.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Consolacion's life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 12PM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410. Friends may greet the family and pay respects to Consolacion at the funeral home on Saturday from 11AM until the time of the service at noon.
