Obituary of Janice McKinstry

CHESHIRE- Janice (LaChance) Mckinstry, 80, died peacefully on May 9, 2015 in her home. She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert J. McKinstry whom she was married to for fifty years. Mrs. McKinstry was born on July 2, 1934 daughter of the late Lorraine (Parrow) and Armand LaChance. Janice was an active member of her church and was given the gift to craft. When Janice was not traveling to Craft shows, she was following her favorite UCONN girl’s basketball team. She loved to spend her spare time reading the most recent Danielle Steele romance novel with her “buddy” Charlie, a protective cocker spaniel by her side. Janice also could be found predicting her favorite dance partners on “Dancing with the Stars”. Her grandchildren would claim she was famous for her scrumptious brownies. Mrs. McKinstry is survived by her children Michael McKinstry and wife Virginia of Danbury, Mark McKinstry and wife Corey of Charlton, MA, Linda Goral and husband George of Wolcott, and Albert J. McKinstry Jr. and wife Julie of Gastonia, NC; her twin sister Janet Almada; brother Ralph LaChance; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Wayne LaChance. Arrangements- Janice’s funeral will be held 9:15 AM Wednesday May 13, 2015 from The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, 06410 and proceed to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, 06410, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow after the service. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the funeral home.
