I read in the Greenwich Time of Bill's death. I knew him for 40 years, as I was a carpenter and had many occasions to "lean"on him to get me out of hardware problems/choices.
Needless to say I always found him a pleasant and honorable man to work with. I particularly remember one occasion when we had "words". On reflection I knew it was I who was wrong and I apologized to him and he graciously accepted it...no grudges. Ever the gentleman!
After he retired I would see him at his home on Weaver St. and I would always stop and chat awhile. I also live in Glenville.
His genre of human being is fast becoming obsolete and his professional skills are surely gone...alas!
May God welcome him with open hands.
