My mother, Amy (Melkonian) Conroy, was Jane's childhood best friend. I only met Jane a few times myself once they, thankfully, reconnected before Amy's own death in 1999. My mother always said that Jane's smile was the undisputed best she'd ever seen - it could light up your heart on your worst day. The best, most memorable to me, story about her that Mom ever told was something about which they swore each other to secrecy forever at the time... When they were young kids, Jane made my mother actually wet her pants with laughter while walking home from school. So embarassing to child! but such a wonderful indicator of the kind of person Jane was, even as a little kid :D. I share this now because I think I'm the only one who knows it and I want Jane's family to know that JOY and LAUGHTER was her legacy in my family, and I'm sure many others. I am so sorry to have just heard about the loss of such an amazing person. I will always carry my mother's fond memories of her with me.

Dear Alicia and Sean, I am very sorry for your loss. I remember your mother vividly and with great fondness. She always showed warmth and sincere interest, no matter how young I was or how long it had been since she had seen me. I am grateful to have known her. My condolences to you and your families. Warmly, Jess Towbin

Jane had a wonderful sense of humor and one of my fondest memories of her was of our first meeting. This was at a PTO meeting where she was elaborating on the trials of giving up smoking. She had tried all manner of programs, but was convinced she had finally found "The One". Her dentist had put a staple in her ear and every time she had a desire to smoke, she was to grit her teeth which would cause pain in her ear and jaw. This association of pain and the desire for cigarettes was to be the absolute cure for smoking. However, she was telling us this with a lit cigarette in her hand. So I stated the obvious; "But Jane, you're smoking." Her answer was, "Oh, if you REALLY want a cigarette; you just don't grit your teeth!"

I was very lucky to have crossed paths with Jane on many occasions over the past twenty-five years. I was always excited when I knew she would be a the party, BBQ, or other gathering. She was a very accomplished and special lady who spread love and laughter around with abandon. We'll miss you, Jane. xoxo

Revelation 21:3-5 tells us about what life in the very near future will be like by saying "Look the tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away." Then in verse 5 we have the reason why we can be confident this promise will become a reality~it says "Look I am making ALL things new...write, because these words are faithful and true." What a blessing! The pain of losing loved ones in death will be a thing of the past. Eventually "there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous."~Acts 24:15. May this thought be a source of comfort to the Lobdell family.

My heart is heavy with sadness because I will miss Jane so very much. However, I am grateful to the Lord that He allowed her to be a part of my life even for a short time. The three years I was blessed with her friendship will be in my heart forever. Good bye my friend, until we meet again.

I saw Jane twice recently after many many years, and she was her usual warm and friendly self. I had no idea that she was ill. I am so very sorry. Please accept my condolences.
