Obituary of Albert J. Adam

Albert J. Adam, age 85, of Narragansett, RI and formerly of Cheshire, entered into rest peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Saturday, October 17, 2015. He is the devoted husband of Helena (DePaiva) Adam for over 53 years. Albert was born on July 16, 1930 in New York City, son of the late Albert and Rose (Pesek) Adam. Al was a Mason of the Temple Lodge #16 AF & AM in Cheshire for over 55 years, a member of the Narragansett Surfcasters and worked as a machinist at American Brass until his retirement in 1990. He served his country with honor and pride in the US Army. In addition to being a dedicated family man, Al enjoyed time on his boat and loved fishing, he was an avid fisherman, and in the winter months he would ice fish. A "Jack of all trades", Al was a craftsman, building furniture, carpentry and plumbing were just a few of his talents. He is the beloved father of Karen Nachin of Narragansett, RI and Sharon Krause and her husband Gene of Port St. Lucie, FL. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren; Michael Nachin, Stephanie Davey and her husband Chris, Shelby Krause and Zachary Krause; cherished great grandchildren; Kylie Nachin and Peri Davey; and several nieces and nephews. Al was pre deceased by his daughter Allison Adam. Al's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 1PM at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 So. Main St., Cheshire, CT 06410. Interment will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Friends may greet his family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12PM to 1PM.
