I am saddened by the loss of Betsy Hackett, my fellow Watertown special ed teacher. I enjoyed her quick intellect, kindness, and caring. Betsy was the consummate professional.
She worked with kindness for all. My life was enriched by Betsy as were many others.

I know that you will be richly rewarded for all of your good work over the years. There are many many children whose's lives you have enriched. You always put the children and your staff first. You were well-loved amongst those of us who worked for you. There will never be another like you. You will be remembered with love and appreciation.

To the Family and Friends of Betsy Hackett,
My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to all members of Betsy's family and friends. I first met Betsy back in the 1970's at Polk School in Oakville. CT, where I was a 5th grade Math teacher there. It was the greatest privilege and honor to know and teach along with Betsy, who was one of the most accomplished, knowledgeable, dedicated, and professional Special Education teachers with whom I've ever worked. Not only a Special Ed. Teacher, she was a very special friend to all teachers, and a lasting positive influence on all her students. In addition to her many talents, Betsy was also marvelous at the piano keyboard. She accompanied me many times as I led my 5th. Graders in the many "extra-curricular" musical performances at Polk School. We had so much fun together.
My thoughts and prayers are with Betsy's entire family, and I'm sure that her memory will live on in all of her students. God rest her soul.
