To Oscar's family; I only know David, Roy, Lynn and Jeff but through you and conversations with Oscar I have come to understand how important his family was and how proud he was of all of you, including his grandchildren! I know you will miss him. I will miss our occasional visits at the store. He reminded me of my deceased father, who also started our family food service business. Amid the pain smiles of remembrance with shine through. I will pray for you during this sorrowful time. Rosemary

You may remember Lynn, that after we both left University of Miami, I visited your family's store. I was on a kick to learn to cook Chinese food and wanted a big knife to chop everything from celery to water chestnuts and chicken. I had not been teaching for very long and did not have much spare money. Soon after my visit, you presented me with a BIG, SHARP cleaver with a wooden handle. I was going to pay for it and can't remember if I tried to or not - what I do remember is your Dad telling you it was a present from him through you. I still have
that cleaver - it must be almost 40 (yikes) years old, and I have thanked you and your DAD for it
often. I used it tonight, remembering my friend's thoughtful Dad with the warm heart and smile.
Love, Cherie
By the way, I never became an excellent cook of chow mein etc., even though I have the best cutting tool! It's even more special to me now.

Dear Lynn, We are so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. We know you and your family are going to miss him very much! If we could package some Florida sunshine and send it to you all today, to warm your hearts, we would. I read a story about a nun who lost her colleague, both had lived over 100 years. She commented that she believes we all die twice. The first is our physical death, when of course, our body leaves. The second time we die is when the last person who knew us, dies. Given that thought, Oscar will continue to live on for quite a while in all your memories and stories! I know he loved his family, and Lynn, you always spoke about him with great admiration and pride. Our thoughts are with you in Florida.

To the Silverman Family: I am so sorry to have just hear that Oscar passed away. Oscar was a gentleman and good guy and he will be missed. Having met Oscar back when we were all in Kingsbury School up to seeing him this past year at the "Warehouse" he always had a smile and always asked about my Mom from the Bank. Please accept my sincere condolences, Regards Greg
