Obituary of Barbara Ruscoe

MERIDEN - Barbara Ruscoe, 89, formerly of Cheshire, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Miller Memorial in Meriden. She was the wife of 46 yearsto the late Charles M. Ruscoe Jr. Mrs. Ruscoe was born July 17, 1926 in Swampscott, MA, the daughter of the late Michael and Irene (Marquis) D'Agnese. She served in the US Navy and later served as Commander of the American Legion Post 92 as well as serving as an officer in the VFW post 10052 ladies auxiliary. A longtime Cheshire resident Mrs. Ruscoe was a member of the Cheshire Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at the Cheshire Senior Center for several years. Her hobbies were gardening and reading. She is survived by her children Pamela Cruse and her husband Scott of Martinsburg WV, Brian Ruscoe and Rosemary Benivegha of Orange, and Kenneth Ruscoe of Martinsburg, WV; her grandchildren William, Heather, and Barbara; her great grandchildren Charles and Abigail; her sisters Janet Walberg of Cheshire and Delores Dillon of West Haven. Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016, 9:30am from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to Church of the Epiphany for Mass at10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 until the funeral procession leaves for church.
