I recently learned of Philips passing and am so very saddened. I met Phil as a Student at SCSU and was coached under his guidance with the Schools Karate team. We traveled to various schools over my 4 years at the University. Under his wing he taught me about confidence and life's lessons. These lessons that I learned from Phil helped prepare me for life going forward.... family was important to Phil...I am so very sorry for his loss...and am even more sorry for learning of this over more than a year after his passing....my deepest sympathies to his family....Phil truly contributed to the good in me and the success I have had as a person, father and husband....so sorry for his passing.

I was so sad to hear of Phil's passing. I met him at SCSU as a Brorther of mine in Alpha Chi Rho. He was a man who took it seriously. Rest In Peace Brother.

To those who mourn Phil's passing, please accept my condolences. I studied Tang Doo Doh in Phil's school for 4 years from 1978 thru 1982. He taught me karate, confidence, about respect, and about commitment. No special treatment for the 2 female students. I learned I was capable of much more than I thought I could do. Ultimately, his lessons effected the lense through which I viewed life. Rest in peace Phil.
