I met Dan in Syracuse when we were high school students (he Central Tech, me Nottingham), played bball with him at the YMCA, and saw him later in NYC when he was an agent working undercover in Spanish Harlem and with his team providing protective service for VP Humphrey at the Americana Hotel. A fabulous guy generous with his friendship and devoted public servant, Our paths hadn't crossed since, but I always remembered him with admiration and deep respect. I'm so sorry to learn of his passing.
