On behalf of the Russell family, I'd like to thank all the friends and people of Ray's community that have come together to celebrate his life and mourn our loss of him. The generosity of Anderson-Ford funeral home, First Congregational Church, Rev. Alison McCaffrey, and many friends who visited Ray, brought him meals, checked in on him, encouraged him and loved him - especially in this this past year as he mourned the loss of his wife, Alyssa, I will hold forever in my heart.
As his only sister, and living at a distance, I am grateful to know he had both family and friends that meant everything to him. You were his world - and there will be an emptiness there where he stood, sharing in our lives. May light and love fill that space and grow as we continue to share our lives with each other.
He is free now ... and I believe, quite happy - riding with the wind - .....lovin' the ride. I love you big brother. You knew I loved you - pestery little sister - I know you knew. Give Mom and Dad a big hug for me. Thank you for sharing this leg of the journey with me.
And thank you to all those sharing their sympathies. His life was short in time, but great in spirit. Peace to all those who are mourning. Take a joy ride for Ray if you can .... he'd like that.
