Wow....today you came up in topic. David G and I were reminiscing on our 4th grade experience. You waging you finger at me and poking me in the should stating, "You're being very bold!" David remembering your green car. LOL. Every Christmas I somehow manage to sing Oh Come All Ye Faithful in Latin as you taught. Thank you Mrs. Flarehty for all the lessons learned and discipline given. Sleep in Peace!!

Mrs Flaherty was my 4th grade teacher at Washington school I was in her very last class, I remember her being so gentle and kind, she taught the entire class poetry, which I still can recite to this day (at 30 years old) she also taught the class chess! I have a newspaper clipping somewhere of her over my shoulder watching another student and I play chess. I remember she was not good with knots and disliked the sound of people cracking their fingers lol she was one of the best! I send my condolences to her friends and family. May she always rest in peace.

It was with sadness that I read of Ms. Flaherty's passing. My entire family had the pleasure of having Ms. Flaherty for our fourth grade teacher at Washington School.
I remember her eating a tomato at morning recess every day as she stood in the school yard watching all her students. She was a beautiful and wonderful teacher.
Sincerely,
JoAnn Niman Jeanfavre and siblings

" Hey kids, let's go to Friendly's." I vividly remember Mary insisting on treating all seven of us despite our Mother's protests. Thank you, Mary, we will always remember your generosity.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, one of the most important parts of my job is to keep the spirits of my patients high. Mary, however, never needed my assistance in that area. In fact, more often than not, she brightened my days. As years went by, her disposition always remained the same; Mary was a kind soul with devout faith, always wearing a smile. She loved to teach, and made that evident to me by remembering my husband as one of her students nearly 50 years ago. This is the difficult part of what I do, having to say goodbye to a person like Mary, but I know she is smiling down from heaven, praying her daily rosary for my family & I. I’ll miss hearing her call my name, asking how my day is going. She was one of a kind.
