Obituary of Thomas Skowronski

CHESHIRE- Thomas E. Skowronski, 74, passed away Thursday September 1, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the loving husband of Carol (Nohelty) Skowronski for 47 years. Tom was born on March 11, 1942 in Derby and was the son of the late Raymond and Anna (Novinsky) Skowronski. Tom was a graduate of St. Michael’s Grammar School, Fairfield Prep, and Fairfield University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy. He was the treasurer for Hartford Ball and Bearing in Rocky Hill prior to his retirement in 2002. In his free time, Tom loved being outdoors. Tom was an avid gardener, golfer, and loved nature, especially birds. He also loved sports, and was passionate about the Yankees and Green Bay Packers. Nothing, however, was more important to Tom and nothing made him happier than spending time with his family. He was an extremely generous and loving dad and grandpa with a heart of gold. In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his son David and his wife Heidi Skowronski of Sandy Hook; his daughter Lisa and her husband Jeffrey Carr of Haddonfield, NJ; and six grandchildren Ryan, Kyle, Jack, Christopher, Olivia, and Mia. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond Skowronski, Jr. Arrangements- Calling hours for Tom will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5 to 8 P.M at The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410. Tom’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby, CT 06418 Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with a burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Silver Hill Road, Derby. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Donations in Tom’s name may be made to The American Heart Association.
