I met your father through Volunteer Services at Masonicare. My initial contact with him was helping set up his Gmail account. I discovered a very upbeat person in him. When I began the series of Experiencing America, Tom was one of the faithful followers. He was in company with John Krik and Ed Creamo. I called them my history scholars. I am saddened that I lost all three of them. They brought a lot to the weekly discussions.
We conversed a lot through the brief two years that I knew him. He told me about returning to Yale for the alumni gathering. He looked forward to going and was very pleased that he did. He was informed on the current events and had a lot of insight in the presidential campaign. He would have loved to see the outcome. He was twenty five years older than me and yet we shared the same political views.
I told him about my upcoming trip to Ireland and he was so enthused that I was going. I told him that I would visit him and tell him about my experiences and share photos. He phoned me about his fall and regretted that he couldn't attend the music program. I called him to ask if I could visit him unaware that he was in pre-op at Mid-State. We talked briefly.
I want to share my words of loss with you. I found out today about his passing and I would have loved to attend the Mass at St. Thomas Moore. I will miss him. He had a strong Catholic faith and I am assured that he is with God.
