Obituary of Thomas E. Goszewski
CHESHIRE - Thomas E. Goszewski, 60, of Cheshire, CT passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 1, 2016. He was the husband of Susan (Jeffries) Goszewski and the father of Tom and Kristin Goszewski.
Tom was born July 25, 1956 in Gary, IN, the son of the late Raymond and Jean (Kosak) Goszewski. He graduated from Andean High School, Coe College in Cedar Rapids Iowa where he ran track and played football. He later received his MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management. He was employed as an Account Executive for Eco-Services, formerly Solvay, Rhone Poulenc and Stauffer Chemical. He was a longtime Cheshire resident after moving from Indiana in 1995. During his years in Cheshire he coached Youth Basketball and Football and was a communicant of St. Bridget Church where he taught CCD for many years. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time on his boat with his family and friends. Tom was so committed to helping others; he was honored to be selected as a volunteer member of the Patient Family Advisory Council for Smilow Cancer Hospital.
Besides his wife of 33 years and his children, he is survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce (Magurean) Goszewski; his brother-in-law, James Jeffries and his wife Teri; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and James Goszewski and his sister Susan Trapper.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, 9:15 from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
