Obituary of Dorothy Adele Hazard
CHESHIRE- Dorothy Adele (Disbrow) Hazard, widow of F. Archer Hazard, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Masonic Home in Wallingford.
She was born on August 9, 1922 in New Haven, daughter of the late Sarah and William Disbrow of Cheshire. She was a graduate of Hamden High School, Class of 1939, and Stone’s Business College. She worked in the accounting field and retired from the Cheshire Tax Office, as its Deputy Collector.
Dorothy was a member of the First Congregational Church of Cheshire and served on the choir for over sixty years. She loved to walk, garden, and paint pictures all of her life.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Disbrow of Arizona, daughter Sally and her husband Anthony Fazzone, son Bruce and his wife Cynthia Hazard, all of Cheshire, and son Roger and his wife Lynn Hazard of Alabama. Dorothy is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Paul Fazzone, Jaime Santa, Hilary Hanley, Wayne Hazard, Justin Newland. Her great grandchildren are George, Matthew, and Jack Santa along with Eleanor Hanley.
Arrangements- A Memorial Service for Mrs. Hazard will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016, in Nelson Hall at Elim Park Baptist Home located at 140 Cook Hill Road in Cheshire, 06410. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 is assisting with the arrangements. Donations in her name may be made to the First Congregational Church of Cheshire located at 111 Church Drive in Cheshire, CT 06410.
