My deepest condolences to your family. Mrs. Sylvester was my third grade teacher at Norton School. She was a wonderful and kind teacher; the best I ever had. I remember her love for pink and purple. I visited with her Christmas of 2015 and brought her a purple poinsettia. If anyone could appreciate a purple poinsettia, it was Mrs. Sylvester. I am sure she impacted so many lives in her career as a teacher. She was the best!

Ruth Ann and Gary,
I was teaching in Cheshire some of the years your mom was there; what a sweet compassionate lady of grace! Her smile and soft voice I will always remember ; nothing but kindness. Cherish your memories.

Dear Ruth Ann, Gary, and family -- I just now found out on FB that she has passed. I can truly tell you that for me, life will be forever changed. She has been a part of my life almost all of my life, ever since I was in her 3rd grade class at Norton in 1963 - 64. I remember that she wasn't at school the day that Kennedy was shot.. years later, she confided where she was, and why (her divorce). I remember how she loved lavender and lilacs, and as a kid I brought her many from our Cheshire farm. Most importantly, she always talked about her 2 kids to all of us schoolkids. We all grew up knowing about you both. Thank you for sharing your wonderful mom with us.. with me.
I loved her very much.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mother. She was a lovely lady who always had a ready smile and something nice to say. Mary Louise was a colleague of mine at Chapman School. She was kind to everyone and loved the children in her charge. She will be missed.
Sincerely,
Maryann Dolan
