Obituary of Marisue Payne

CHESHIRE- Marisue Payne, 61, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2017 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Jeffrey Payne in 2011. She was born May 10, 1955 in New Haven, daughter of the late Susanne (Aitro) Heffernan. Marisue was a devoted mother to her children, Ashley Barron and son-in-law Brian Barron of Boston, MA and Jeffrey Payne Jr. of Milford. In addition to spending time with her children, Marisue cherished time spent with her loving family and lifelong friends. She was a committed Special Education Teacher who adored her students in the town of Wallingford prior to her retirement. In her free time, she loved gardening, preparing great Italian meals and rooting for the Red Sox and Patriots. She also leaves behind her constant companion, her beloved dog, Bailey, who will truly miss her. She is also survived by her brother Gerald and his wife Rosalie Heffernan of Bradenton, FL; sister Sharon and her husband, the late Donald Clark of Milford; in-laws, John and Tammy Payne of Cheshire, Terry and Sandy Payne of Cheshire, and Ellen and Arthur Barrett of Manahawkin, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements- Calling hours will be held 2-5 P.M, Sunday January 8, 2017 at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street. The funeral will start on Monday, January 9, at 9:15 A.M from the funeral home and proceed to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main St, Cheshire, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502.
