I was so very saddened to learn of Jay's passing. We had recently gotten back in touch after an almost 15 yr absence. I first met jay when I got my dog Hooty (short for Houdini). He was a Sheppard mix stray found roaming Washington Heights in 1994. I would bring Hooty over to play with Rocco. Jay was so very kind and his love of animals and devotion to his friends were so very apparent. He never seemed phased by his exceptional good looks and I often felt odd being in his company, as his presence was so very strong. He never seemed to notice and was interested in my thoughts and company. I was so happy for him when he went to California, which was his plan for a long time. I pray for his family, for surely his light was a great source of comfort and love. May he Rest In Peace with the Holy Father. Kim England McGuirk, Cornwall on Hudson, NY

I did not know Jay as an adult. I recently reconnected with my Connecticut family. Jay's mom, Fran, is a first cousin on my father's side. I, too, have had a career in the arts MUSIC. We have been blessed with those genes. Jay was outstanding to make a name for himself in acting. I am very sad he struggled with cancer and passed at an early age. Please accept my sympathy.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bontatibus,
I was saddened to hear about Jay's passing. I remember his wonderful smile and how friendly he always was whenever I'd see him. I just recall his smile being so infectious. I have many good memories of him from CHS and Copper Valley and summer outings as I lifeguarded with several of his CHS teammates so we'd all be together at events. He was just a sweet and kind person and I recall always leaving feeling happy from having talked with him- he was such a nice guy. Having children of my own I can only imagine your heartbreak, so please accept my deepest condolences. Please extend my best to Jill, Mike and Ricky.
