Obituary of Richard J. Mulligan
OLD LYME- Richard Mulligan, 59, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Kathryn M. (Fredsall) Mulligan whom he was married to for 23 years.
Rich was born February 15, 1958 in Waterbury, son of the late Dr. Thomas Michael and his wife Stella (Golda) Mulligan.
Mr. Mulligan attended Holy Cross High School, and graduated from Wilby High School in 1975. He was a Cable Repair Technician for AT&T prior to his retirement.
Rich was avid Boater, loved riding his Harley Davidson, and was an avid Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox fan.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son Dylan Mulligan of Old Lyme; his siblings MaryKay Mulligan and her husband Orest Pelech of Onancock, VA, Anne and her husband Mark Hannon of Stratford, Rob and his wife Yan Mulligan of Red Bank, TN, and Tom and his wife Barbara Mulligan of Onancock, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Rich was predeceased by his sister in law Donna Marie Fredsall, and his niece Colleen Mariah Moriarty.
Arrangements- A service for Mr. Mulligan will be held 10 A.M, Friday, March 24, 2017 at The First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, 2 Ferry Rd, Old Lyme, CT 06371. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710 is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations in Rich’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Hospital, 56 Franklin St, Waterbury, CT 06706.
