Obituary of Robert Pineau
CLERMONT, FL - Robert “Bob” Pineau, 77, entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, after a long, brave battle with cancer. He was the husband of Eileen (Golden) Pineau who passed away in September of 2016.
Previously from Oxford, CT, Bob loved cars and started his long career as a mechanic. He owned several businesses, including Bob Pineau’s Sunoco in Fairfield, CT and APCO Auto Parts in Bridgeport, CT. He moved on to work at Perkin Elmer as an optical engineer on the Hubble Space Telescope. Later he returned to his first love, cars, as a service director. He earned numerous awards and accolades as a service director including “Gold Award for Outstanding Achievement on the Cadillac Craftsmen's League” 2 years in a row. He most recently worked for Quality Care in Naugatuck, CT. Bob and his wife of 57 years, Eileen, retired to Clermont, Florida in 2004 to enjoy the warm weather. Bob loved to golf and joined a league in Clermont and enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. He earned several trophies and awards golfing, including 4 “hole-in-one” awards. Bob also served as an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church and even through his long illness he always had a smile and kind word for everyone.
He is survived by his brother Jack Pineau, his sisters, Linda Kabelis and Marjorie Carol, his daughter Denise Figueroa and son-in-law Eduardo Figueroa, his son Robert Pineau II and daughter-in-law Leah Faraci-Pineau, three granddaughters, Melissa Foxx, Jessica Foxx, Amanda Foxx and future grandson-in-law Gilbert Rivera, and his 6 great-grandchildren, Meadow and Sylvio DeStefano, and Paul and Cayla Blatchley, Raymond and Abel Zimmer, extended family and friends. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his grandson, Steven Foxx.
Arrangements – A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
