Obituary of Normand B. Landry

Normand B. “Babe” Landry, age 72, of Plantsville and formerly of Meriden entered into rest after a long courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 7, 2017 at MidState Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 17, 1945 in Connors, New Brunswick, Canada, son of the late Vital "Pet" and Fabianne "Bee" (Morneault) Landry. He was the devoted husband of Jeannine (Bastarache) for over 46 years and a beloved father of Tina Marshall and her husband, Brian of Frisco, TX and Lisa Haggerty and her husband, Joseph of Milford, PA. He is survived by his cherished grandchildren Sarah and Matthew Marshall, and Meghan and Ryan Haggerty. He is also survived by his siblings, Maurice, Roger, Danny, Odelie, Leola and Helena Landry, Lottie Abbis, Rachel Plourde and her spouse Lionel, Jeannine Landry and her spouse Alberie, in addition to many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Benoit Landry and his one and a half year old brother Roger. Normand loved to spend his free time fishing, hunting, gardening and rooting for the Boston Red Sox. The family would like to thank the staff at MidState Medical Center and especially Dr. Fumo for their compassionate and loving care. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10:30AM in St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of his family. At the request of his family memorial contributions may be made to The Pink Ladies’ Sisters for Hope Foundation, 20 Bonnie Court, Wallingford, CT 06492. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire has been entrusted with his arrangements.
