Dear Landis Family,
I am so sorry to have read of your loss; please accept my sincere condolences. Something that I have personally found to be of great comfort are the thoughts expressed at John 5:28, 29 as well as Revelation 21:4. In these verses, we find a wonderful hope for the future of being reunited with our loved ones upon the earth the way it was originally intended--free from sickness, suffering, and death. Knowing this has comforted me greatly and it is my sincere hope that these thoughts comfort your family as well. Again I am so sorry for your loss.

The best description of Lydia I can think of is that she had "spunk". All of the staff and her fellow students at Thistle Needleworks loved her and her sense of humor, her very giving spirit and her immense talent as a needlewoman and painter. Our memories of her will not fade for we know she will always be with us and keeping an eye on us and her family forever.

I loved Lydia, even not knowing her as well as I'd have liked. We'd often share a chuckle
over my husband and I having two Corgi puppies and one older guy...she'd tell me we were just crazy. She and I were, I just read, only not quite a year apart in age.
My condolences to all her family and friends. She'll be sorely missed at Christ Church,
Bethany.

Lydia was and is the most positive woman I have ever known. I looked to her for positive re-enforcement in my own battles. I looked forward to Sunday mornings with her in church and coffee afterwards; her phone calls and concerns; always thinking of others; a beam of light from God. I am blessed to have some of her beautiful craft work to treasure. Dear Lydia - you are so loved and always remembered.

Not so many years ago Lydia and I visited nearly weekly at the open stitching class every Thursday morning at the Thistle Needleworks. I have many happy memories of our time there and especially of a trip that a few of us took to my home-away-from-home in Maine. Our lunches together with other stitching buddies after class were always a highlight of that day! Her accomplishments and her talents will be remembered by me for the rest of my life. Her love and pride of family and devotion to family was special and set a good example for others. Loved visiting her home and seeing all her talents in each and every room there, what an artistic talent she did have. I was fortunate to be the recipient of her beautiful painting and every time I pass by my favorite, a special scissor holder, I will think of dear Lydia! God bless Lydia, you deserve the best rest of your very special life.

Lydia was a gem and a great hearted woman. Spending many hours with her studying books and listening to her observations about life, she was an inspiration to us. Her positive approach to living with cancer was also an inspiration. We will miss her.
