Obituary of Ephraim Alexander

Ephraim Alexander, age 88, of Columbia, Maryland and formerly of Waterbury passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home. Ephraim was born on December 26, 1928, son of the late Solomon and Lena (Greenberg) Alexander and beloved brother of the late Muriel (Alexander) and  Louis Solomon.

Mr. Alexander enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew and families. He enjoyed taking long walks, doing needlepoint and listening to classical music. He often spoke of his years living in Waterbury which was his beloved home most of his life. When he lived in Waterbury, he enjoyed working as a grounds management technician at the Fairfield Hill Hospital.

He is the loving uncle of Betsy Ellen (Solomon) Wolk and her  husband, Herb of Woodstock, MD and Morse Solomon and his wife, Betsy (Abrahamson) of Ellicott City, MD and the late Anne Michele (Solomon) Attenberg and family.  He also leaves his cherished great nieces and nephews: Devora (Wolk) Kirschner and husband, Jeffrey; Stefanie (Wolk) Sorkin and husband, Grant; Neil Solomon and wife, Melissa (Airey), and Andrea Solomon.  He is the loving grand uncle to Jacob Kirschner, Lillyanna, Briella and Dylan Sorkin, Tyler and Connor Solomon.

He will be greatly missed by all.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 12PM in Workmen’s Circle Cemetery, Stillson Road, Waterbury.  The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury has been entrusted with his arrangements.
