Mr. Pettit was an important role model for a father to me. I never met him, but I have known his daughter for twenty years, and she spoke lovingly and tenderly about him all those years. Her admiration and love were so strong and striking that I determined I would be a good father if my daughter shared even a small part of that love and devotion towards her father. I am praying to night for the family and just want to say how blessed I have been by this man I never met but whose testimony has been an inspiration and encouragement to me.

Dear Peggy and all of your loving family, I was saddened to learn of Ray's passing. It happens to be the same day that I lost Rollie 3 years ago. I have many happy memories of the fun we had with you and Ray and our beloved RP Niners. We enjoyed the Nine Hole Mixers and being included in your special private parties! May God bless each of you as you face this new way of life without Ray. Know that he was loved by so many and is now in his heavenly home. Love, Margie

To the family of Mr. Pettit, His wise counsel and classy way of passing along his vast wisdom and experience was a real God-send to this young (at the time) CFO of Naples Community Hospital, AKA, NCH Healthcare System. He treated all of us at NCH like members of his own family. When God created Mr. Pettit...He broke the mold.
