To family and friends of Michael Blumenthal,
For more than 25 years Dr. Michael Blumenthal served on the boards of First Church
Housing (aka Robin Ridge Apts.)and Greater Waterbury Kiwanis. Michael was Lt.
Governor of New England Kiwanis and President of the local Kiwanis a number of times.
At Robin Ridge he served many years as Vice-President of the Board of Directors.. He did not miss a meeting except for serious health reasons. As a board member he was inariably civil, informed and interesting. There was no subject that arose on which Michael could not provide an explanation, a note, or an anecdote. Perhaps his most critical role was to serve as Parliamentarian for each board, keeping everyone focused on the business at hand. It was invariably Dr. Michael who raised a point of order, who reminded us that the amendment to the amendment had not been seconded, and who
moved in timely fashion to adjourn almost every meeting. Now Dr. Michael has moved to adjourn his meeting with us on earth, a motion seconded by the medical community, and approved by the Almighty. It has been a privilege to know him and to be considered his friends. We pray for his family, friends (especially Jacki and Evelyn Marshak), colleagues and students with the hope they are comforted by their memories of Michael.
