Obituary of Anne Marie Greene
NAUGATUCK – Anne Marie Greene, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 6, 2017 in the VITAS unit at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late William A. Greene.
Mrs. Greene was born June 29, 1932 in Stamford, the daughter of the late John C. and Helen M. (Grabowski) Smolinski. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident moving from Stamford in 1975. She worked for Electrolux for many years and after her retirement worked as a receptionist at her daughter’s beauty salon “Self Image”. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed taking her family to Electrolux company gatherings and babysitting her grandchildren. In addition to spending time with her family, Mrs. Greene enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino. Her first plane ride was with her siblings in which they flew to Las Vegas for a family getaway.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her brothers William Smolinski of Stamford and Edward Smolinski of FL; her sisters Jane Krajewski and her husband Andrew of FL and Paula Hartlet of Milford; her grandchildren Victoria Prickett and her husband Roger of FL, Cheryl Waters and her husband Rich of Watertown, Everett Johnson Jr. of Branford, Shannon Lopes and her fiance James Sitar of Naugatuck, and Nina Lynn Altieri of Waterbury; her greatgrandchildren Mason, Ethan, Nicholas, Jesse, Shawn, Ricky, Joey, Julia, Britney and Kyle; sons-in-laws Everett Johnson Sr. of FL and Scott Linhard of Waterbury; grandson in law Pedro Lopes of Naugatuck, and granddaughter in law Mickie Johnson of Oakville; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and her parents Mrs. Greene is predeceased by her daughters Linda Johnson and Kathleen Linhard; her brothers John and Theodore Smolinski; her sister Elsie Buckett; and her brother in law George Hartlet.
Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
