Heidi, we are sadded by your father's passing. My husband, Elmer, better known as Mr.Fence called your dad Chappy and he sends his condolences, too. Chappy allowed me to hold several tag sales in front of the little red barn. Most memorible was 20 years ago when Princess Diane passed. Chappy is missed and will be remembered well by many. We will all sincerely miss Richard's good old fashioned Yankee spirit. He stood by his friends and family, always let you know what was on his mind, never backed down from big brother, had solid values and was a real American in the traditional sense. He will be missed, but his memory shall live on every time a farm is passed, a chicken lays an egg, a bale of hay is tossed onto a wagon or a damn good story is told. There will never be anyone quite like Richard "Papa." He was a hard working guy who had a heart of gold with love for his family. Along with Mom, Dad was your rock. Richard was well admired by anyone he met, especially at 1-Stop! As much as we disliked going to school during winter days, it now gives us a smile seeing Papa was behind it with help from The Farmers Almanac!
