Obituary of Earl Evon

WATERBURY- Earl T. Evon Jr., 65, passed away Monday October 15, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (Robitaille) Evon. He was born February 13, 1947 in Waterbury son of Mary Evon DeSanty and the late Earl T. Evon Sr. Upon graduating from Naugatuck High School in 1965, Earl joined the United States Navy and served in Vietnam as a Corpsman attached to the United States Marine Corps. Earl was the acting Exalted Ruler of the Waterbury Elks Lodge B.P.O.E # 265, where he participated in the Golf and Bowling Leagues. He was a member of the Southington Country Club Men's Golf Association, the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Waterbury, and the VFW Post #201. He will always be known as a true American that loved his country. Besides his mother and wife Earl is survived by three sons Earl T. Evon III of Somerville, MA, Jason T. Evon of Waterbury, and Scott Wilkins of Lakeland, FL; a daughter Shanna-Marie Wilkins of Waterbury; two brothers, Andrew Evon of Sarasota, FL, and Charles and his wife Dorothy Evon of Shelton; four sisters Patricia and her husband Dean Shelton of Sarasota, FL, Cynthia and her husband Robert Mulready of Sarasota, FL, Rebecca Scalzi of Shelton, Frances and her husband Edward Harrity of Monroe, NC; four grandchildren Brandon, Ivan, Nadia, and Paige; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Sean Owen Evon, and a sister Susanne Davis. Arrangements- A service for Earl will be held 10 A.M Friday October 19, 2012 at The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, 06710. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Thursday October 18, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the Elks National Foundation, 2750 North Lakeview Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614-2256.
