Obituary of Rosa Rodriguez

NAUGATUCK - Rosa Rodriguez, 83, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home in Naugatuck.  She was the wife of the late Pedro Rodriguez.

Mrs. Rodriguez was born September 14, 1934 in Marico, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Celestino and Eslervena (Rivera) Avila.  She worked for many years at Avco Manufacturing, the Dictaphone Corporation and had retired from Sikorsky Aircraft.

She is survived by her daughters Maria Lizasuain and her husband Americo, Evelyn Rivera and Rosa Mendoza and her husband Hector; her sisters Angela Crespo, , Maria Rivera, Mercedes Rosado and Gladys Ramos; her brothers, Raul Avila, Celestino Avila and Romon Avila; her grandchildren, Martiza Lopez, Americo Lizasuain Jr., Wanda Lugo, Jeannette Rivera, William Rivera, Monica Montalvo, and Vanessa Mendoza; her great grandchild Larissa Byrd, Javon Lopez, Joshua Lizasuain, Deija Rivera, Dante Rivera, Jalaisa Lugo, Jaden Lugo, Arriana Lugo, Mateo Montalvo, and Myranda Montalvo.  She is predeceased by her siblings Ceaser Avila, Jesus Avila, Olga Decampos and Romona Caez.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017, with the funeral procession leaving the Alderson-Ford of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. at 9:15 and proceeding to St. Vincent Ferrer Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am.  Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to VITAS Innovative Care, 199 Park Rd.
